This blog isn't just about my Bearded Collies. It's also about knitting, needlework, food, music, miscellaneous rants, and any other old thing that pops into my head.

Great site, I've learned a great deal just from reading back through your posts about bearded collies. We've been waiting patiently for our Beardie for 7 weeks now and should have her on the 8th or so of this month. We've been wondering about the best way to get our two older cats acclimated to the new pup. Any suggestions?
Hi Syn -- Hope you come back to read your comment, since I have no other way to contact you. Anyway, we kept introductions very short and simple. We introduced them in the downstairs family room. We allowed Dinah to sniff Persephone, told her how good she was for being calm around the cat, and then brought Dinah back upstairs. We did this a few times, always removing Dinah after a brief hello and before she got too wiggly. The two of them get along fine now, though they still aren't what we'd call close friends.
OH! I just noticed I didnt share my profile from here. Sorry about that. Good to hear they get along even if they arent the best of friends. Thats basically all we can work towards. Also just realized that I said the 8th of this month, what a hurry I'm in sometimes. Meant next month of course. Anyways, great to meet you, thanks for the advise. I look forward to reading more posts from you.
She is so adorable Karen!!! And so is Charlie! They all are. And the thing about being thieves is true. Bailie is the biggest thief of all! I have to be very careful with my stuff, especially fiber stuff!!!!!!!!! He thinks everything is a toy bought especially for him!
